I have been wanting to design myself a new logo for a while now because I haven't really had one apart from the grey hand lettered name that was at the top of the website which I haven't really used anywhere else and was never totally happy with. I wanted something that people would look at and then know exactly what I was all about. So I decided to re-letter my name in a way that would work with some text underneath and chose to go for 'Design & Lettering' underneath as that pretty much covers everything that I do and am about.
It is hilarious since logos and branding are a big part of what I do but I hadn't been very good at getting my own brand sorted - but it feels so good to now have a logo that I can use on everything. It will go on all my invoices, the back of my greetings cards and prints and I have got business cards and postcards printed and everything is tying together really nicely now.
I even got a stamp made to put on my packaging when shipping out orders - I always love getting a stamp made when I design a new logo...there is something so satisfying about stamping things! Ha.
I have decided that I will use different shades of green as my brand colour palette and that change will be reflected on the website in the links and navigation and also in printed items I produce for my brand. Everything should all start to feel a little more united in its look and feel. I will also apply the changes to my etsy shop in the next few days.
I do find it quite hard to design things for myself (I think most designers do - my wedding invites were the hardest thing ever!), but I am really pleased with how this turned out. It is simple but communicates everything I wanted, and I actually really like how the hand lettering turned out. Maybe I will do a little 'process' post about how I put it together...I seriously wrote my name SOOOO many times!
