I can't believe that the letterpress course is nearly over. For these last two weeks we are working on our own projects. I thought since I am already in the festive mood I would do some letterpress Christmas cards for people this year. (I am not really a big sender of Christmas cards but this year I am going to be organised and send some) The picture on the left was after I had set my type and locked it all up. You have to lock it all up and fill in any empty space with spacing blocks so that none of the type moves around when it is on the press. I then did a proof. I hand inked it so that I could have a different colour on each word (I think I am going to change the colours for the final thing although I was loving that deep blue) and ran it through a small proofing press. Next week I am going to print them on the Vandercook I think. Just need to get some blank cards to print them on and then I am all good to go for the last week of letterpress. I can't believe it is the last week! BOO. It has been a great course.
More festive posts to come soon!
