Kew Gardens
Liz Mosley Kew Gardens

So one of my best birthday gifts ever was a membership to Kew Gardens this year. I have been a couple of times already and I just love it. It is such a beautiful place to wander around and explore and it is kind of amazing that you're still in London, only 30 minutes away from home, but feel like you are anywhere but a big city. I am so excited to spend the weekends taking the baby for walks around these stunning gardens and discovering new bits that I haven't explored yet. I am also looking forward to experiencing it during all the different seasons.

These are just a couple of photos from one of my recent visits. I didn't take loads but I am hoping to take my camera and use these days out as opportunities to get creative and improve my photography.

Have you ever been to Kew Gardens? Which were your favourite bits? I feel so blessed to have such a beautiful place to spend time at, that's so nearby.

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

A weekend in Corfe Castle, Dorset

Sometimes I get so excited about travelling and exploring different countries that I think a lot of time I forget how amazing and beautiful the country I live in really is. I need to make an effort to explore it more and appreciate it more than I currently do.

Last weekend we went to Corfe Castle in Dorset and it was just stunning. We stayed actually in Corfe Castle (not the actual castle but the village it is in which is also called Corfe Castle) in a really cute - what looked like a cottage from the outside, but inside was actually a massive house that slept 15 of us and had a huge garden. You could wander around pretty much the whole village in about 15 minutes and I loved it. We went to the local pub for drinks and dinner, we went to the village bakery for croissants and bacon rolls, we went to the sweet shop/newsagents for the paper, eavesdropping on the village gossip and just generally wandered around enjoying village life. I don't think I could do it all the time but there is something so lovely about life in a little village.

On Saturday we got the steam train from Corfe Castle to Swanage for the day to see the sea and then on Sunday we did a quick tour of the Castle before heading to Arne nature reserve. Check out some of the pictures...I couldn't recommend visiting this beautiful part of the country more!

Little Loves // 04

This week has been a bit busier than I would like. Things at work are ramping up, I am finishing a course and need to do a self counselling essay which is pretty intense. The things I have on are lovely but after a slower start to the year I am craving that slower pace again. I am still trying to keep noticing the little things around me that are lovely even when things get a bit hectic. Here are this weeks little loves.... 1. I finally got round to making this pom pom garland. You can't see it very well in this photo but I used a light yellow wool for the bits in between and then a bright yellow of the actual pom pom's. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out for a first attempt, would like to try some other colours though.

2. I read this book by Austin Kleon at the beginning of the week. It really inspired me and got me excited...and now I need to be better at sharing what I am working on. My plan for this blog has always been to show more work but it has not materialised yet. Watch this space. (and read this book because it is amazing)

3. Got to have a quick brunch with this beauty, and here she is wearing the snood I knitted her. My knitting skills are basic but I am in love with making these big chunky knit snoods. She requested a green and it looks so good on her.

4. These pink petals on the floor. Although they were starting to rot they looked so pretty and almost like confetti.

5. Spending time with family and going for a walk with these guys. I miss them already. I love living in London but sometimes I just want to gather all the people I love and make them live near me! ha.

6. This little flower in a sea of green and brown caught my eye. What a total beauty. The pattern on the petals is just incredible. and those colours. God is the ultimate artist.

My Fave etsy shop - Wood & Grain
woodandgrain

This week I am breaking from tradition and instead of featuring a round up of things I have found on etsy I am just going to show you one shop I have found. Let me introduce Wood & Grain. I am in love. Their shop is divine and just filled with simple and beautifully crafted things inspired by nature. A lot of the items they sell are for weddings (why did I not find them 5 months ago!!) but they also have other cute things like the thank you stickers (middle top) and also gift tags (bottom left and bottom right) which I am drooling over and may need to put in a little order pronto! They also have a lovely blog - check out this awesome invitation suite (below) that they did for their own wedding! - Incredible. Go check out their shop and blog. This is definitely my favourite etsy shop right now. I will let you know when I find another gem.
